Wandergrams – January

This month has been a wonderful start to the new year!  A little crazy, but lots of hiking with friends & family, healthy meals, beautiful sunsets, and serious goal setting.  January is fueling my year with exciting plans and healthy, motivating energy.  Bring on the fun, 2013!

Resolutions for 2013

row_resolution_2013

* I started making new year’s resolutions a few years ago.  I usually succeed at keeping a couple of them through the whole year, but a few always fall off the radar.  This year I am trying to build my willpower (a resolution in itself), so wish me luck!  So far I’m lacking at posting to the blog once a week.  But I feel like the more regularly I post, the better I will get at it.  I am also planning to review my goals on a monthly basis to help keep me on track.  Do you have any resolutions for 2013?  Or any tips on staying motivated to keep them?

Cheers, Jenny

Happy New Year!

The new year represents a fresh start or a clean slate to do with what you will.  365 new days to be a better person, or at least a healthier one.  It’s funny how a simple change in a number can make people so reflective on life.  I guess it’s just a reminder of how fast time passes.  I wish I was more inspired and motivated by each and every day as I am by the first day of the new year.

Unfortunately, I fall into the same trap that captures most, the new year’s goals that only get so far before they are deserted.  This year I am making them short, sweet, & specific, so that I can keep on track.  I also plan on reviewing them midway through the year to re-motivate.

My number one goal for the new year starts with this blog.  I have been planning it for years and it’s finally time to get the ball rolling.  My promise to you (whoever is reading) and to myself, to post at leastone time a week, every week for the next year.

I will post a list of my resolutions here as soon as I narrow them down.  If I have them posted out in the open, for all to see, I think it will help hold me accountable.  Do you have any resolutions for 2013?  Or any tips for keeping yourself on track?  I would love a little extra advice!

Best wishes for the new year!

Cheers, Jen

Hello World

row_first_post_photo

Hi.

My name is Jenny, officially Jennifer.  I am a small town girl from Northern California, now living in a sprawled out city of San Diego.  I miss the green vegetation, crisp, clean air, and copious amounts of rain that make up the Pacific Northwest.  The combination of the majestic Redwoods, the rocky coastline, and the rushing rivers is so powerful that it attracts the most interesting and creative people.  I feel so fortunate to have been raised there.  Someday I hope to return to that part of the world.  But in the meantime, I’m soaking up the year-round sunshine.

Running on Wanderlust was created to capture and share my travel adventures, creative projects, and tidbits of everyday life.  There is nothing I love more than throwing a small pack on my back and gallivanting around the world.  The only way to truly learn about life, people, cultures, & language is to experience them first hand.  There is also no better way to learn about yourself and what you are made of until you venture out, and are challenged by the unknown.  The world will open your eyes, your heart, your mind, & your senses to the most incredible experiences!  Go with an open mind, and you will never regret it.

If I’m not traveling, then I am helping people to live healthier lives (by day), creating jewelry (by night), enjoying the outdoors with my friends and family, and getting crafty whenever possible.  Yet, I find my thoughts are constantly ‘running on wanderlust’… aka: daydreaming of beautiful, far off places.

I believe that everyone has an interesting life story to tell.  Even if you think you live the most boring existence, someone is bound to find it interesting.  I love that one day, my great grandkids will be able to see what it was like in ‘my day’, when a candy bar used to cost only 50 cents (now they are a whole dollar). And so, Running on Wanderlust is going to house my story.  It may not be how one would write an autobiography, but I think it will be a more interesting way to capture and share snippets of everyday life.  Particularly through photos, creative DIY projects, healthy recipes, travel tips, & more.

If you like what you see, grab a cup of tea and stay a while.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheers, Jenny
